Humans explore distant places in nature while also seeking their own origins. In their attempts to discover and understand themselves, humans often draw from natural phenomena. All natural metaphors seem like miniature creation myths, depicting the origins of all things and proving the unity of life. Nature is humanity’s home.

In ancient Chinese mythology, the Fusang tree is the divine tree of the East, overseen by the wood god and spring god Jumang from ancient folklore. People held spring ceremonies every year to worship the spring god. In Western springtime, people dress up, dance around the maypole, and toast to celebrate the return of warmth and comfort.

Whether in the East or the West, humans have a natural reverence and faith in nature, with customs to celebrate spring's arrival and pray for the growth of all things. Driven by the same instinct, we can find common connections in nature that transcend Eastern and Western differences.

At the end of November 2023, UPPERVOID, carrying Eastern natural beliefs, crossed 8,778 kilometers to debut at MESSE MÜNCHEN.

Using friendly outdoor gear as a medium, we aimed to communicate with the world and connect with nature.

Nature has its intrinsic ways of exchanging information. Scents flow between deer, and the green at tree wounds, along with lingering smells, allow the species living there to instinctively interpret their meanings. Language, considered a unique human skill, irreversibly separates humans from nature while also building high walls of communication between people in different regions.

Symbols, capable of transcending language and cultural boundaries, can be spread and understood globally. Therefore, we created a set of functional symbols based on nature and outdoor gear, combined with the brand’s unique visual expression, forming UPPERVOID Semiotics.

Totem flags serve as sails for journeys, prayerful Fusang trees, and erected maypoles, transcending geographical and cultural boundaries to return to unity in nature.

Made with patented technological fabrics and top-quality materials from around the world, creates friendly multifunctional outdoor gear that transcends cultural boundaries and evokes an instinctive closeness to nature. This first journey allowed us to feel the enthusiasm of friends from around the world, spreading the seeds of creativity of an Eastern outdoor brand across regions and cultures, taking root and growing.

Culture is not the opposite or antithesis of nature but the interface between humans and nature, a unique “semi-permeable membrane” for our species. Language and imagination are not reasons that alienate humans from nature but the most effective and natural tools for humans to reconnect with nature.

Good products require an infusion of imagination, enabling us to dissolve cultural and regional barriers. With an instinctive longing for nature, we focus on the pure emotions evoked by the natural world.
